Dr Matt Brooks – Sabbatical

This year I have been given the opportunity to take a sabbatical. As a result I will be away from the surgery from 29th April to 21st June.

During this time, Dr Tim Graham will be covering my work at the surgery. Tim will be well known to many of you, having worked here as one of our registrars in recent years.

I shall be using my sabbatical to have some additional time with my young family. I am also intending to complete the 140 miles C2C cycle route from Whitehaven to Tynemouth.

Once I have recovered from this, I hope to return to the surgery refreshed and revitalized!

Best Wishes, Dr Matt Brooks

Appointment Access for Dr R L Wharton

Message from Dr R L Wharton

I wanted to let you know that I have taken up a part time post as Medical Director to the BANES Primary Care Trust.  I will be working there on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  This means that I will reduce my surgeries during 2012 to Tuesdays and Fridays only.  I will do my best to answer your queries but clearly I will have fewer appointments available, and will be talking to you on the telephone more.  This will be explained to you if you ring or come to reception and ask for an appointment.

We are fortunate that Dr Shanil Mantri has joined the practice to assist Ruth Grabham and myself as we are both now quite busy with helping the local NHS organisation.  He is an experienced GP and will be working on Wednesdays and Fridays.

We do thank you for your understanding about this. 2012 will be a crucial year for the NHS with all the changes and we are pleased to be involved in making sure that these changes go as smoothly as possible.

Thank you and best wishes

Richard Wharton
