Out of hours, between 18:00 – 08:00, weekends and Bank Holidays patients should contact NHS 111 where they will be provided with telephone triage and advice. If patients need to be seen out of hours this will be at the Urgent Care Centre at the RUH which is located within the Emergency Department (A & E).
In the case of a medical emergency please call 999.
Urgent Out of Hours’ Medical Care
Important Information about the NHS 111 Out of Hours GP Service.
This is a 24 hour a day service for all health-related phone calls that are not serious enough to call 999.
During normal working hours, your first point of contact will still be here at Newbridge Surgery.
If you need a Doctor out of hours, contact them through the 111 number.
When you ring the surgery number outside normal working hours, you will be informed to put the phone down and dial 111 instead. Calls to 111 are free of charge from both land lines and mobiles, so you will no longer be put through automatically from our number – otherwise you would have to pay for the call.
The three telephone numbers to remember for all your health related problems are:
- 01225 425807 (Newbridge Surgery) for urgent or routine calls during the working day (08:00 – 18:00)
- 111 for urgent calls or advice outside surgery hours
- 999 in an emergency
