Contraception & Sexual Health

All types of contraception available at the Surgery, including implants and coils. Please book an appointment with a Nurse of GP for any contraception queries.

There are always same day appointments available for emergency contraception.

www.safebanes.com is for young people who live in Bath and North East Somerset and provides advice on relationships, sexual health and sexual wellbeing.  It has been fully redesigned in collaboration with local young people. www.safebanes.com is for young people who live in Bath and North East Somerset and provides advice on relationships, sexual health and sexual wellbeing.  It has been fully redesigned in collaboration with local young people.

On the website you can find information and advice on free condoms ((C Card) available here at Newbridge and over 70 venues across Bath and North East Somerest); contraception; emergency contraception; sexually transmitted infections (STIs); pregnancy; sexual and gender identity; and relationships and sexual abuse.

You can also find all the services that you can access across Bath and North East Somerset including those in Bath, Keynsham, Chew Valley, Paulton, Midsomer Norton and Radstock.

SAFE stands for ‘Sexual Health For Everyone’, and is a quality standard offered to all organisations who provide sexual health advice and information to young people aged 13 to 24.

Any service showing the SAFE logo shows that services are young person friendly. That means they have to be: 

  • Accessible to young people regardless of disability, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, locality or financial situation
  • Provide up to date information and resources on a range of sexual health and relationship issues for all young people
  • Confidential
  • Friendly, welcoming and comfortable places for young people to be
  • Encouraging and supportive of opportunities for young people to help services to continue to improve and develop, in both what services are provided and how they are provided
