SUSPENSION OF TRAVEL SERVICE
It is with regret that we have decided to stop the additional service of providing private travel vaccinations. Due to a nursing shortage we will be focussing on our essential services. Under this you will still be eligible to receive the vaccinations available on the NHS. These are:
- Diphtheria, polio and tetanus booster
- hepatitis A – some combined vaccines, such as combined hepatitis A and B
If you call the surgery for travel vaccinations we will no longer be able to offer you travel advice. You will be advised to check your destination on a vaccinations website (National Travel Health Network and Centre) http://www.nathnac.org/ds/map_world.aspx and check what are the recommended vaccinations. If you require vaccinations other than those listed above you will need to attend a private vaccinations service. We recommend that you receive your consultation and private vaccinations prior to having your NHS vaccinations as the private service can confirm what is required. You will need to ensure you book all vaccinations in adequate time prior to travel.
If you are travelling within the next 3 months, we may not be able to accommodate your request and you may need to make alternative arrangements with a private travel clinic
If you have started a course of treatment at the surgery we will administer any remaining doses, however all travel advice telephone consultations will cease from 14th May.
We are investigating options to be able to re-offer a private travel service in the future.
Please ensure you use the link below to fully research your destination and understand which vaccinations you may require prior to your initial telephone consultation with the nurse:
